North Harringay School
Capstan Group Services were appointed by Haringey Council to deliver a large scale Passive Fire Protection programme at North Harringay Primary School. The works formed part of a wider fire safety improvement strategy and included fire door installation, fire door maintenance, and comprehensive fire stopping throughout the school estate.
Due to the operational requirements of a live primary school, all works were restricted to school term holidays. The programme commenced in late 2024 and is scheduled for completion in early 2026, requiring careful long-term planning and coordination to align works with half-term, Easter, and summer holiday periods. Fire doors were surveyed and measured outside of school operating hours, allowing accurate manufacture and timely installation during subsequent holiday windows.
In several instances, entire work packages were planned and delivered within a single half-term period to minimise disruption and maintain programme certainty. This approach required close coordination with the client, school leadership, and supply chain to ensure materials, labour, and access were aligned precisely with each holiday phase.
The project demonstrates Capstan’s ability to deliver complex Passive Fire Protection works within highly sensitive environments, balancing safety, compliance, and programme constraints while maintaining a high standard of workmanship throughout an occupied educational facility.
