The Objective: Removal of asbestos throughout the 3rd floor and strip out and builders works required to install new staircase, lift and access doors.

 

Challenges: Carry out the works within a tight programme which meant working 6 days a week and out of hours as the building remained live to students while we were working.

 

We had to overcome working on various levels to manage to safe completion of large structural openings in the floor slab.

 

This site was visited by the HSE which scored very highly and achieved the comments by the visiting officer that it was a well managed site.
