The Objective:

As part of the full refurbishment of Battersea Power Station, to convert it to housing and retail use we were employed by Keltbray to carry out the Asbestos removal of the wash towers and various other areas around the site.

 

Each of the four towers had to have the asbestos removed before they could be structurally altered.

 

Challenges:

The biggest challenge on this project was the difficult access to each area and working against the weather to complete within programme.

 

Logistics of deliveres to site also proved challenging as they needed to be booked at least 48 hours in advance.

 

Stringent drug and alcohol checks were carried out on a regular on basis by the main contractor and we completed the tasks with zero injuries or incidents.
